If your patients and pets are struggling, you are not alone! The majority of pets are overweight or obese, with many guardians and veterinary teams unsuccessful in attempts to help. It’s not just looks, excess body weight will reduce your pet’s enjoyment of life, increase disease, and shorten their lives. We are here to help!
In 2025, the Ontario Veterinary College has launched a complete and complementary referral weight care clinic, providing specialized veterinary support to help struggling pets achieve their healthy weight. Our goals are not about aesthetics, or just a number on the scale. Our focus is to help improve and prolong pets lives through nutrition and synergistic support, helping them return to their full potential while improving their health and wellbeing.
FAQ
Who? Any veterinarian in Ontario can refer canine and feline patients to the Hill’s Pet Nutrition Weight Care Service for weight loss and obesity management.
What will be offered? Full-service, return to wellness packages including nutrition assessment, body composition assessments with or without advanced imaging, customized diet recommendations, weight loss coaching, monitoring and follow-up. All of this can also be combined with physical therapy.
I run a great weight loss program, what if I just need some services? Perfect! Contact us for individual services.
Where? In-person consultations at OVC, or telehealth consultations.
What is different? This will be the first service in Canada to offer specialized weight loss and obesity management utilizing optimal technology, tailored nutrition and/or physical therapy.
